Quabbin Youth Soccer (QYS) is dedicated to providing a fun, safe, healthy and competitive soccer environment in which the youth of Quabbin regional towns (Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, New Braintree, Oakham and Petersham). The focus is to help players develop their soccer skills, to learn proper attitudes towards competition and sportsmanship, to learn the values of teamwork, respect for the rules, and self discipline, and to gain self confidence through trial and error against strong opponents.
The Quabbin Youth Soccer Travel Program traditionally consists of age groups from U8 and older. These teams are selected from open tryouts that are held twice each year. These teams play more competitive soccer against other towns in Worcester County. Although it is encouraged that all players play in each game, playing time may not be equal. A commitment is expected for attendance to all practices and games as the members of the team can only develop when all members are present. Players will be placed on teams based solely on level of skill, not for convenience of transportation, friendship, or parental preference for coaches.
